Because pictrack handles child photos and videos, it tries to be clear not only about what the app does, but also about what it does not do.
What pictrack cares about
The app is built to help families choose themes, keep growth records easier to revisit, and share only when they decide to. That means the handling of photos and records should stay understandable.
How photos and videos are handled
Photos and videos are handled for saving records and syncing them when needed. They are not part of an external AI analysis flow.
No external AI photo sending
pictrack does not send photos or videos to external AI services. Child names, birth dates, face data, and photo metadata are not sent to external AI services either.
No auto-tagging, auto-classification, or face recognition
The app does not use AI auto-tagging, AI auto-classification, face recognition, or automatic historical photo classification. The user chooses the theme and keeps the record intentionally.
How Firebase is used
Firebase is used for authentication, storage, and sync within the app boundary. It is not used to route photos or videos into third-party AI analysis.
Invite-based sharing
Sharing is invite-based. A family viewer is added only when the user chooses to create and use an invite code.
Viewer permissions stay limited
Viewers can browse approved records and use favorite, comment, and reaction actions. They cannot upload, delete, hide, or create and export Growth Films.
Growth Film is generated on device
Growth Film is created from photos the user selects manually, and generation happens on device instead of through an external video generation service.
External sharing happens only when the user chooses it
Photos, videos, and Growth Films are shared externally only when the user explicitly chooses save, export, or share actions.
